Within the AWdb Web App:
If you can't find a member in the member list by typing their name in the search field above the list, either:
- your access to members is limited due to permissions* - talk to your AWdb admin to gain access. Or,
- the current filter is preventing the person from showing in the list - try one of the following suggestions.
For an admin user - the easiest way to search the entire database is to click thebutton in the top menu bar. Begin typing the member's name in the search dialog to see a list of all the matching members. Select a member to show the member's details.
For non-admin users - use the Name field in the filter dialog to search all of the members to which you have access, as follows:
Clear all of the filters using thebutton, then type the first, preferred, or last name in the Name filter and select OK. Once the member is selected, review the member's information and make changes to items that may be preventing it from being included in your normal filter.
Note: if a member was archived and does not have a role in the latest club year (because they were missing a grade and could not be promoted, or you chose to archive them during the New Year Setup process), they will also not have any session records for the year. The box for "A member must have a session (check-in) record on the current club date in order to be matched by filters." must be unchecked before the member can be matched. (Clearing all of the filters does this.)
Tip: if your filter results are large, type a preferred or last name in the search field above the member list to further narrow the results.
Tip: to easily switch back to your previous filter after searching on a name or without session records, save your filter before changing it so you can select it again when you're ready.
Within the AWdb Windows App:
By default, only members with a role for the current club year will show in the clubber or leader grid.
To locate an individual, use the Search Members field in the far upper left corner (NOT Search Clubbers or Search Leaders above the grids). Type only a First Name OR a Last Name and press ENTER. A list of persons with a name that matches is shown. From there, open the member record for the desired person.
Another way to locate missing people is to use the Households module. Set the Show: selector to (All Statuses). Locate a family in the list. Select a member on the right to open the member record.
* If your access to members is limited by permissions, you will see "NOTE: Your access to filter options are limited by permissions set by an admin user." at the top of the Filter Dialog.
