The Leader Service page is used to track all of a leader's service records. The most recent service record is listed at the top. This is a good place to see a leader's service history.
Notes about Service records:
- Service records are automatically created for roles where the member type is Leader (including Student Leaders).
- If a member has more than one role with a member type of Leader, only the primary role will be automatically set to count for a service pin based on attendance. This allows tracking the service of a leader who serves in more than one club (usually on different days of the week) without both roles counting as a year of service.
- Generally, one service record represents one year of service. However, historical service can be entered with a date range and count for multiple years.
- The Years of Service and the Service Pin Years will match for most leaders. If a service record has a year count but 'counts for service' is not checked, those years will not be added to the service pin years.
- The 'counts for service' box will be automatically checked when a leader meets the attendance requirement set in the Admin module under Awards > Leadership Service Awards.
Members > Leader Service toolbar:
Add Leader Service* – opens a dialog to enter information for a new service record:
- Club Year - defaults to the current club year, but older club years can be entered, including a range of years
- Position - select from the list or add a new value
- Club Name - the list includes clubs currently in use. Choose 'Awana' for historical service in a club that is not currently active. (Additional information can be included in the Notes field.)
- Church - select from the list or add a new value
- From Date and To Date - enter the beginning and end dates of the service
- Year Count - for historical records that cover a range of Club Years, include the number of years to count for the service record
- Service Pin - check the box if this service record should count towards the leader's service pin year count
- Note - any additional information relevant to this service record
Edit Service * – opens a dialog to change the service details. Update any of the above fields as needed.
Remove Service* – removes the selected service record. A confirmation is required to delete a service record. Service records do not generally need to be removed. The 'service pin' box can be left unchecked if the leader did not meet the attendance requirements for the service to quality for a service pin.
