Trek clubbers are required to complete a Bible Reading plan each year in addition to the main handbook. Since some clubs use a 2-year plan and some use a 3-year plan, these have not been included in the main handbooks. They have generally been tracked by assigning a separate Bible Reading Plan. When the separate plan was completed, the single "Bible Reading" section in the main handbook was marked as completed.
A selected Bible Reading plan will now be linked to a main handbook. This is designed to make it easier to track completion of the Bible reading sections without having a separate 'book' assigned. Here's how it works:
- When a Trek handbook is assigned, the Handbook Assignment dialog will include a field for "Linked Bible Reading" to select the reading plan to be completed.
- The single "Bible Reading" section in the main handbook will be removed.
- The sections from the selected Bible Reading plan will be included in the main handbook.
- The calculation for book completion percentage will include the additional sections.
If for some reason, it is preferred to NOT link the readings, there is a setting that can be changed within Admin > Curriculum. For each Trek book:
- Select the handbook from the list on the left. The details are shown on the right.
- Go to the Book Info page for the selected handbook.
- Click the pencil to edit the record.
- Uncheck the box for "Needs Linked Bible Reading".
- Save the change by clicking the checkmark at the top.
When a Trek handbook is assigned, the field for "Linked Bible Reading" will not be included. The single "Bible Reading" section will be used in the main handbook. To use linked Bible Readings in the future, edit the Book Info page and check "Needs Linked Bible Reading".
